There have been some considerable modifications to the schedule that include meal times and two unique opportunities for students and groups to be engaging in activities for fun and to strengthen the group as a body. Check out the new schedule...
Across the entire site we've been shifting beds around, bringing in some newer beds in some of the flat lodges, and improving standards. What does this mean? Some of the new beds are full size twin beds, very comfy and there's a whole different rigidity to those bunks...you'll barely notice your bunk mate is there unless they snore. Secondly, this means less people sharing a bathroom...that's all kinds of good.
Plus, there's also that 2nd brand new building Fenstermacher Lodge!
New activities for next year start with the addition of Crossbows and Slingshots, 9 Square, and a GaGa Pit. Plus there will be more t
eam events with Water Olympics, Tug-O-War, and an epic battle of The Shade (you'll want to prep your team and dress uniquely for each of these events).
The craft events keep expanding as well with new opportunities like: Candle Making, Duct Tape Adventures, Campfire Cuisines, and some classic returners.
Another major adjustment to the activities is Tubing. Its popularity causes short rides, long lines, and the occasionally frustrated camper (those willing to wait tend to ride repeatedly while some never get to ride). Additionally, tubing is a costly activity that too many don't have an opportunity to use, even though everyone has paid to make it available. So, in 2012 tubing will become an event that participants will need to both pay and sign up for. Spots will be longer (30 minutes) and the fee will be nominal, $5. Tickets are available at the Beach House. (What's the Deal With Paying For Tubing?)
We're adding more great spaces between the auditorium, the office, and the Beach House making this the place to be; look for the GaGa Pit (which will also double as an Official Trash Can Game Court), the 9 Square Court, permanent fire circles, the crossbows and sling shots range.
The rec field is also getting some additional effort this off season that will help improve your camper's experience.
More options, more variety, more opportunities. As we are currently exploring new topics, leaders and organizations, we'd love to hear any suggestions you have; contact Gern.
Some groups are looking for easy camp solutions and and others are looking to not have to worry about filling an entire lodge. So, on January 15 after the Private Lodge Bookings are mostly complete, a second group ticket option, The Epworth Dorms, will open as space is available. Please note, this option can only becomes available if at least 3 of the lodges in a session are not sold by January 15 (one for the Campus House and 2 for the Epworth Dorms). Check out the Group Tickets page to discover more about this option.
